Both Drs. Michael Stewart and Kelly Olson Stewart received their EdDs from Arizona State University. Michael and Kelly got married and started a family and then decided to pursue their doctoral degrees on this episode they share insights about how to not just survive but thrive when there is a doctor in the house!
Tips:
- Communicate!
- Know when to ask for help – and then be specific about what you need.
- Know when to give help – and be specific about how you want to help.
- It’s a ride best journeyed together (the person in the program should consider inviting their partner/friend/family member along for the ride and the person not getting the doctorate should consider being a co-pilot).
- Get creative and carve out small chunks of time when you can be totally present with each other.
