1) Useful – Would this research be useful to the field? and Is it useful to you (is this feasible?)
2) Unique –How is your research going to be different from what everyone else has done in the field? How does this point back to you as a unique researcher?
3) Urgent – If you don’t do this research what happens? Why do we need to know this now?
4) Ultra-specific – This isn’t the time to think too big. Remember the wall of knowledge – each field is a brick and you are bringing one tiny grain of sand
